CertainTeed Symphony®
Discontinued — what Tulsa homeowners should know
CertainTeed's Symphony slate-look shingle has been discontinued; homeowners report being unable to source it for additions and repairs.
Symphony
The Oklahoma verdict
If Symphony is on your roof today, the practical issue is matching. Once a shingle is discontinued, a hail or wind repair can't be blended into the existing slopes, and that is exactly the situation where we document the discontinuation with the manufacturer's notice and submit it with your claim. Whether your policy pays for full replacement when a match is impossible depends on your policy's wording, so we read it with you before anything is filed.
What replaced Symphony?
The closest current CertainTeed looks are below. We bring physical sample boards of each to the inspection so you can hold them against your existing roof.
Discontinuation evidence we attach to claims

When a repair can't be matched, this documentation goes into the claim file alongside slope-by-slope photos and the test-square results. Read how we run that process in How to File a Roof Insurance Claim in Oklahoma and What Your Insurance Adjuster Won't Tell You.

Frequently asked questions
Is CertainTeed Symphony discontinued?
Yes. Symphony is no longer manufactured. Existing roofs keep whatever CertainTeed warranty coverage was registered when they were installed, but replacement shingles are no longer produced, so spot repairs cannot be matched.
What replaced Symphony?
The closest current CertainTeed options are Highland Slate and Grand Manor. We bring sample boards of both to the inspection so you can compare them against your existing roof.
Will insurance replace my whole roof if Symphony can't be matched?
It depends on your policy language. Some Oklahoma policies include matching provisions or endorsements; others pay only for the damaged slope. We document the discontinuation, photograph every slope, and submit the manufacturer evidence with your claim so the adjuster has the full picture.
